On 13th October 2008 we will entertain members of Ashton-under-Lyne Photographic Club at a 'battle' and hope to reverse the narrow defeat when we last met!

Stalybridge Festival
The Club is to have a stall at the Stalybridge Carnival to be held on the Carnival Field in Cheethams Park on Sunday 22nd June 2008.

Tulip Sunday
Once again Tameside MBC Environment and Planning Department will be celebrating the coming of Spring by holding the annual "Tulip Sunday" on 27th April in Stamford Park, Ashton-under-Lyne. This will be a wonderful opportunity to dust off your close-up lens and try out your photographic skills.

Result of Battle with Ashton
Members would like to thank their hosts for an entertaining evening at Ashton's club night where twenty prints and twenty projected images (ten each from both clubs) were judged. SPC just missed the first place and came a creditable second!

Club to hold exhibition
The Club is to mount an exhibition of members′ prints at Mossley Library for two weeks, commencing 3rd March.

There is to be a prints and projected images battle with our near neighbours at Ashton-under-Lyne Photographic Club on Thursday 6th March.

PhotoTopix online forum
PhotoTopix is an online photographic forum, which describes itself as "the creative photography community". It has been suggested that members of SPC join the ‘community’ and take part in the forums; the object being to enhance photographic skills and bring SPC to the attention of others. It‘s free and easy to join —try it out!

Revenge is sweet
In a keenly fought, but friendly return battle with Ashton-under-Lyne Photographic Society held on 13th October Stalybridges' entries of ten prints and ten projected images just pipped the visitors' twenty entries. Thanks to Christine Widdall for judging and commenting on all the entries and hard luck Ashton.

AGM 6th October 2008
The re-arranged AGM was duly held on 6th October; Derek Pilkington was elected as the new Secretary, Ken Nolan and Mike Wheeller were re-elected as Chairman and Treasurer respectively. After the formalities the focus of discussion was the development of the Club over the next few years.

2008 AGM date change
At a meeting of the Club on 1st September 2008 members agreed that the date for the AGM be switched from 22nd September 2008 to 6th October 2008.

Meeting 21st July 2008
A photographic trip around Stalybridge is planned for this evening and members should meet outside the club at 7.30pm.
